WELCOME
+ SOUND PERFORMANCE BY TOMI HAZSLINSKY
Welcome - is a multidisciplinary project that includes participatory practices in culture and cultural diplomacy.
Project participants: Ukrainian community living in Innsbruck. Refugees, internally displaced persons, children, teenagers, the elderly, and people with disabilities were involved.
An attempt to bring the local Austrian community closer to the Ukrainian one. To give people the opportunity to be heard. Since the installation is in a church located in the city center, public space is an important factor in the project. The historical chapter is democratically opened by means of a socially critical form.
The artistic action encourages an important dialogue that will help to better understand the needs and problems of Ukrainian citizens.
The project aims to promote integration and support moral and mental health.
The project aims to ask questions to each visitor.
After all, despite the increased opportunities for integration, emigration creates a sense of alienation and helplessness.
The interviews were translated into German and English.
The people who gave the interviews were also given a document signed by both parties stating that the participants were giving truthful information. On the part of the artist, everything that is said will be used only for the artistic work. Everything that is said will remain anonymous.
